DIAMOND WALKER BESPOKE SHOES EXPANDS INTERNATIONALLY TO THE MIDDLE EAST
Singapore-based luxury bespoke shoemaker brand announces partnership with Abu Issa Holding (AIH) to open boutiques across Doha, Dubai, Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

SEPTEMBER, 2015 (SINGAPORE) – Diamond Walker, a bespoke shoemaker luxury brand (conceptualized and incorporated in Singapore) offering only made-to-measure services with fully hand-made quality leather shoes, celebrates their 3rd Anniversary with the announcement of a master franchise partnership with the prestigious Abu Issa group of Qatar, assisted by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore who were instrumental in this process.

A total of up to seven Diamond Walker stores will open in Doha, Dubai, Kuwait & Saudi Arabia, with the first boutique in Doha to be ready by end November 2016.

Abu Issa Holding is a leading business conglomerate in the Middle East for over 30 years with businesses in retail, distribution, telecommunications, IT, energy & engineering, investment and real estate. They own Blue Salon (a high-end department store) in Doha as well as 70+ retail outlets with brands such as Corneliani, Aigner, Pal Zileri, Trussardi, Cole Haan, Levi’s, Guess, Morgan, L’occitane & more. They will oversee the development and expansion of the Diamond Walker brand in the GCC region.

[ASHRAF A.R. ABU ISSA, CHAIRMAN, ABUISSA HOLDING]:
“Diamond Walker is an exciting luxury brand with an interesting concept and strong appeal, evidenced by the patronage of its clients which include many international celebrities, famous business leaders & the well-heeled, which resonates with our philosophy of bringing strong & credible brands into our portfolio. We are confident the Middle East market will respond very well to Diamond Walker and we look forward to expanding throughout the key cities in the years ahead.”

[VICTOR LEE, CEO, DIAMOND WALKER]:
“Taking our Diamond Walker brand to new consumers is a core objective for our company. With IE Singapore’s introduction and assistance, Diamond Walker is able to enter the retail market of the Middle East with a strategic alliance with the Abu Issa Holding group. Abu Issa’s strong understanding of luxury retail will put the Diamond Walker brand in very capable hands and we look forward to introducing our bespoke shoes offering to a whole new audience there.

In line with its global expansion plans, Diamond Walker is planning the opening of its own fully owned flagship store in one of the fashion capitals of the world for the first half of 2016 as well as being currently engaged in different stages of discussion with prospective franchisees in the region. Our customers fly in from around the region and as far as the USA and Europe to make shoes at Diamond Walker in Singapore and most of them are here because of word-of mouth recommendations or because of features in luxury magazines like the Robb Report”.

[ G. JAYAKRISHNAN, GROUP DIRECTOR, MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA GROUP,
INTERNATIONAL ENTERPRISE SINGAPORE]:

“The rise of the Gulf economies has led to a new dimension in domestic and tourism spending. Given the Gulf’s strategic location between the Asia and Western economies, the region’s tourism figures have grown strongly. Countries in the Gulf also have the highest GDP per capita, which are amongst the highest in the world. Global retailers see value in establishing a point of presence in the Middle East. Diamond Walker’s bespoke range of products offer a unique value proposition catering to the demands of the market and we are pleased to play a part in promoting this unique Singapore luxury brand overseas”.
